Program information
Considering a career in teaching? This unique program with SUNY Oneonta provides an opportunity to complete both your associate and bachelor’s degrees at MVCC. Your first two years will focus on introductory education classes and liberal arts courses, fulfilling all 10 general education requirements. Graduate from MVCC’s program with a minimum 3.0 GPA and be automatically accepted into the bachelor’s degree portion of the jointly registered program.
Oneonta will only accept students in the Fall semesters.

Career opportunities
Once you receive your degree from SUNY Oneonta and pass New York State teaching certification, you will be New York State certified to teach first through sixth grade in any public or private school. Graduates will also be able to tutor and substitute teach.
Internship opportunities
This program includes 45 hours of observation in a classroom setting.
