Public Safety

The Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) Department of Public Safety is dedicated to providing a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, employees, and visitors. The department is staffed by New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) Certified Campus Peace Officers who are trained and authorized to enforce applicable New York State laws and College policies. Public Safety officers patrol campus, respond to emergencies and requests for assistance, investigate incidents, provide crime prevention and safety education, and work closely with local law enforcement and emergency service agencies to protect the campus community.

Public Safety is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on the Utica Campus. Officers also provide regular coverage at the Rome Campus and for College events and activities.
