FABLab Equipment

The FABLab at MVCC has high-tech industrial-grade fabrication equipment and electronic tools capable of producing a variety of differently sized projects or products, ranging from small to large. The current FABLab equipment inventory includes many different pieces — from 3D Printers and 3D Scanners to Vacuum Forming CNC Controlled Milling Machines and Laser Engravers.

3D Printers

Stratasys F370 3D PrinterStratasys F370

Build size: 14 inch x 10 inch x 14 inch

This printer uses Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) Technology to print functional prototypes using PC-ABS thermoplastics that are durable, stable, and accurate. The F370 prints models in layers, at a thickness of 0.010 inch.

Makerbot Replicator Desktop 3D PrinterMakerbot Replicator Desktop 3D Printer

Build size: 9.9 inch x 7.8 inch x 5.9 inch

This desktop 3D printer uses Polylactic Acid (PLA) thermoplastics to print models and prototypes.

Bambu X1C 3D Printer

Build size: 10 inch x 10 inch x 10 inch

This printer uses Polylactic Acid (PLA) thermoplastics to print models and prototypes using Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) Technology.

Formlabs 3+ 3D Printer

Build size: 5.7 inch x 5.7 inch x 7.6 inch

This printer uses photopolymer resins to print models and prototypes using Low Force Stereolithography (LFS) technology.

3D Scanners

Artec Space Spider

This scanner uses Blue Light Technology to reverse engineer medium-sized objects, for design, rapid prototyping, manufacturing, and inspection proposes.

Vacuum Formers

Mayku FormBox

Forming work envelope: 7.87 inch x 7.87 inch x 5.11 inch

The FABLab has one of these vacuum formers, which is used for the reverse engineering of parts, prototyping, and mold making applications.

Epilog Helix 24 LaserLaser Engravers

Engraving area: 24 inch x 18 inch x 8.5 inch

The FABLab has two of these engravers. Both can also be set up with a Rotary Attachment for Cylindrical Items and are equipped with a 40 Watt CO2 Laser System. Engraving and cutting can be performed on the following types of materials: Woods, acrylics, plastics, and aluminum (in some cases).

T-Slot table is used for easy part fixturing. The following material types can be routed utilizing this machine: woods, plastics, fiberglass, metal, and other routable materials.
