Fall Commencement exercises will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16 at the Field House in the Robert R. Jorgensen Athletic/Event Center at MVCC's Utica Campus for eligible December degree and certificate candidates. The Commencement speaker is 2022 Alumnus of Merit Musco Milner (MVCC Class of '90), Director of Campus Safety at Utica University.
Caps, gowns, and two free announcements may be picked up in the College Store on the Utica Campus beginning Monday, Dec. 5. Store hours are 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. A student ID will be required to obtain commencement attire and announcements. If you would like to pick up your regalia on the Rome Campus, please email your first name, last name, and height to sm8368@bncollege.com. The cap and gown are to be kept by the graduates.
Graduates should be at the Jorgensen Athletic/Event Center by 2:30 p.m. Graduates will be directed to the Commencement Registration & Information Tables, which will be located in the main/performance gymnasium lobby, where graduates will pick up their Graduation Name Card. After picking up a Graduation Name Card, graduates will be directed into the gymnasium, where they will look for wall posters indicating their academic major. A faculty member or Marshal will line graduates up in alphabetical order by School, Program, and Last Name (make sure not to lose your Graduation Name Card). And don’t worry about anything, Commencement Marshals will be on-site if you need any assistance. This is a time to celebrate!
ALL CANDIDATES MUST BE IN CAP & GOWN, IN PROPER ORDER BY 3:45 P.M.
Guests of graduates should find seats in the bleacher section of the Jorgensen Athletic/Event
Center Field House (no tickets are required, but students are asked limit their guests to no more than
two people).
For those who cannot attend in person, Fall Commencement will be livestreamed; watch
it at www.mvcc.edu/live.
Immediately following the exercises at the Robert R. Jorgensen Athletic/Event Center, graduates and their family are invited to a reception in their honor. This will take place in the Alumni College Center on MVCC's Utica Campus. For those outside the area, you may want to log on to Oneida County Tourism for information on hotels, restaurants, attractions and events in our area.
I look forward to seeing graduates walk across stage and best wishes as you complete your studies at MVCC!
Sincerely,
Bill Dustin, Director of Events and Guest Services
