Centro Bus
Centro Bus is a convenient and affordable way for students to travel around Utica and connect with nearby areas. A Centro bus stop for the Mohawk and James Street lines is located right on campus in front of Payne Hall on Sherman Drive, making it easy to access public transportation from MVCC. Semester Bus Pass
Students can purchase a semester bus pass for $150 from the Bookstore and may use eligible financial aid during the first three weeks of the semester. This is a great option for students who plan to use Centro regularly for classes, errands, work, or exploring the community.
Not ready for an unlimited pass? Students who need immediate shorter-term bus passes can visit the C3 office in WH129C for help exploring available options, including single bus passes or 10-ride passes.
Rome Campus Based Academic Programs - Utica Campus to Rome Campus - Centro Bus
Centro Bus offers travel between the MVCC Utica Campus and the Rome Campus. The unlimited bus pass is necessary for Utica Rome route.
The College will provide a $150 scholarship for any Residence Hall Student enrolled in a Rome Campus based major including Baking & Pastry Arts Management, Culinary Art Management, Remotely Pilot Aircraft Systems, Surgical Technology and Airframe and Powerplant Technology. This scholarship provides students with the flexibility they need to either buy an unlimited Centro bus pass, use the funds toward ride share or even use the funds for gas for a personal vehicle.
Immediate Short-Term Transportation Assistance
Students who need immediate short-term transportation support can visit the C3 office in WH129C for help troubleshooting transportation challenges and exploring available options, which may include single bus passes or 10-ride passes.
"HAWKMart" Shuttle - Especially for Residence Hall Students
This Weekly Walmart Shuttle is a highly utilized student support service that provides free transportation for Residence Hall Students to Walmart twice each week. Operated by Student Life, this program helps students access essential items such as groceries, school supplies, personal care products, medications, and other everyday necessities without the burden of transportation costs. It's also a great chance to get off campus and spend time with other students!
