2025 Biennial SUNY Uniform Campus Climate Survey

Consistent with New York State Education Law 129-B and policies of The State University of New York, Mohawk Valley Community College participated in the 2025 University-wide Biennial SUNY Uniform Campus Climate Survey. The Survey gathered information about student and employee experience with sexual and interpersonal violence and knowledge of policies and resources.

293 students and 259 employees completed the survey, for response rates of 9.5% and, 41.4% respectively. In the survey 15.7% students reported that they experienced sexual harassment, 7.6% of students reported that they experienced sexual assault, 4.1% students reported that they experienced rape and 7.2% students reported experiencing stalking in the prior year. Also in the survey, 74.7% percent of students indicated familiarity with affirmative consent, 61.9% students indicated that they knew how to report, and 54.5% students know how to contact the Title IX Coordinator.

Mohawk Valley Community College, working with SUNY and community colleagues (including students, faculty, and staff), will use these data to improve response to violence, develop prevention programs, and will continue to study the issue.
