Hawks fall short of another national tournament appearance
The MVCC Women’s Soccer Team came up just short of another trip to the NJCAA National Tournament last weekend, falling to Jamestown Community College 2-1 in the NJCAA Region 3B championship match.
The matchup offered the winner an opportunity to advance to the national tournament and represent NJCAA Region 3. After earning that distinction for seven consecutive years, the Hawks’ impressive streak came to an end despite a strong performance.
MVCC controlled much of the match, outshooting Jamestown 24-6 and holding the lead for 75 minutes. But a penalty kick and a set-piece goal allowed the Jayhawks to take the lead.
While the loss was difficult, it doesn’t diminish what these athletes accomplished throughout the 2026 season. MVCC captured the Mountain Valley Conference Championship and finished the season ranked No. 2 in NJCAA Region 3.
