On Monday, Sept. 14, 2026, Mohawk Valley Community College added 81 students to its Lambda Beta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa during an induction ceremony at the Utica Campus.
The ceremony was hosted by the MVCC PTK student officer team, with MVCC President Randall VanWagoner, Vice President Lew Kahler, and guest speaker Dr. Aaron Fried, Professor in the MVCC School of STEM-Transfer.
Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society for two-year colleges and the largest honor society in American higher education. Membership is offered to students who have a 3.5 GPA or higher with at least 12 credit hours in a degree program.
