MVCC's FBLA chapter honored at National Leadership Conference

The Mohawk Valley Community College Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) once again has earned recognition on the national stage.

The 2026 FBLA Collegiate National Leadership Conference, held June 6-8 in Las Vegas, brought together more than 1,300 attendees from nearly 200 colleges and universities across 29 states. After qualifying through state competitions earlier this year, the nation’s top FBLA students competed in 42 business-related events for scholarships, awards, and national honors. In addition to competition, students participated in professional development workshops and networking opportunities with peers, educators, and industry leaders from across the country.

To qualify for the national competition, each member of MVCC’s FBLA chapter first had to place among the top competitors in their respective events at the state level. The chapter’s continued commitment to excellence was reflected in several notable achievements at the national competition:

  • The MVCC FBLA chapter received the Outstanding Chapter Award, one of the organization’s highest honors, recognizing collegiate chapters that make a significant impact through leadership, community engagement, and member involvement. MVCC earned this distinction for the students’ participation in business panels, networking events with local schools and organizations, fundraising initiatives, and involvement in the FBLA Stock Market Game throughout the year.
  • Business Administration majors Andrew Stanley of Remsen, N.Y., and Vincent Klein of Ava, N.Y., placed fifth in the Management Case Competition, finishing among 37 teams from across the nation. In addition, Klein earned a fifth-place finish in the Business Law Objective Test, competing against 45 other students.
  • MVCC Instructor Yue Riesbeck received the Outstanding Local Chapter Advisor Award, representing New York State, and was recognized on stage at the opening ceremony. In addition, Riesbeck and MVCC Assistant Professor Ross Wittenberg were selected to serve as judges for national presentation events in the areas of business management and accounting.

This national recognition reflects the dedication and professionalism of MVCC’s FBLA students and advisors, while highlighting the College’s commitment to preparing students for success in business and leadership careers.
