Mohawk Valley Community College will host the sixth annual Taka-Con, a convention for fans of all things “nerdy,” from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the College’s Utica Campus, 1101 Sherman Drive. Admission is free.
Taka-Con, presented by MVCC’s Anime Club, will be held in both Wilcox Hall and the Alumni College Center. It will include local vendors selling a variety of items, such as pins, stickers, plushies, 3D-printed tchotchkes, and costuming and gaming accessories. Throughout the day, there will be panel discussions on such topics as RPG homebrew and VTubing/streaming, as well as chances to play Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering. The day will end with a cosplay contest with prizes for characterization, homemade costume creation, and best overall. Signups for the cosplay contest will begin at 5 p.m.
