Mohawk Valley Community College will host several make-and-take workshops that are open to the community this spring. Tickets for all workshops can be purchased online through the MVCC Box Office.
Sensory Jar Workshop for Kids — 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28; Wilcox Hall room 225, MVCC Utica Campus. Led by local creatives at Marcy Made Minis, this workshop is designed for children ages 4 to 6 years old. Participants will make their own sensory jars and explore various sensory stations and activities. Tickets are $10 per child.
Mushroom Risotto Workshop — 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 24; Plumley Complex Kitchen, MVCC Rome Campus. In this hands-on cooking workshop led by MVCC Chef Dustin Swiss, participants will learn to make a creamy, flavorful mushroom risotto from scratch. Tickets, which are limited, are $10 per person and free for MVCC students.
Basket Making — 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 25; Wilcox Hall room 225, MVCC Utica Campus. Led by Weave & Wobble in Dolgeville, this workshop will teach participants how to weave their own basket. All materials provided. No experience necessary. Tickets, which are limited, are $35 general, $30 for MVCC employees, and free for MVCC students.
Spring Door Wreaths — 6 p.m. Thursday, April 2; Wilcox Hall room 225, MVCC Utica Campus. This workshop, led by Boonville-based paint-and-sip studio The Thirsty Painters, will guide participants in creating a door wreath for spring. All materials provided. No experience necessary. Tickets, which are limited, are $25 general, $20 for MVCC employees, and free for MVCC students.
