Mohawk Valley Community College will host events and activities in honor of Women’s History Month, an annual celebration of the often-overlooked contributions of women to history, culture, and society.

Women’s History Month Kahoot Trivia

MVCC’s Program Board will host Kahoot Trivia about women’s history at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, in the Alumni College Center Snack Bar at the Utica Campus.

Women’s History Month Brunch

MVCC’s Office of Student Engagement will host a Women’s History Month Brunch at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, in Alumni College Center Room 116 at the Utica Campus. International Women’s Day Table Event

MVCC’s Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) group will celebrate International Women’s Day with informational tables in the AB Lobby from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 8. They’re inviting all students, faculty, and staff to stop by and pose with a selfie card to join the movement on social media, helping to raise awareness and encourage others to do their part to help forge women’s equality and #EmbraceEquity.

International Women’s Day Movie Event

MVCC WISE and the MVCC Professional Association Social Justice Committee will host a showing of the documentary “The Janes” at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, in Alumni College Center Room 116 at the Utica Campus. “The Janes” tells the story of a group of unlikely outlaws. In the pre-Roe v. Wade era, a time when abortion was a crime in most states, the Janes provided low-cost and free abortions to an estimated 11,000 women.
