Mohawk Valley Community College, through a grant from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), is offering free Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) training to those working in general industry, healthcare, and manufacturing facilities. Complimentary PPE also will be distributed to all trainees.
This 90-minute training will educate workers on the safety and health topics of PPE to support the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of hazards — including PPE concerns in relation to COVID-19 — in workplaces. This training can be customized on-site (if appropriate space is available) or offered virtually. Flexible times can be offered to accommodate various shifts. The training will be translated into multiple languages and interpreters will also be available at no charge. All in-person trainings will be in strict compliance with COVID-19 protocols.
The instructor for the class is a senior safety and health consultant and former safety inspector for the New York State Department of Labor with more than three decades of experience in occupational/workforce safety and health.
