Mohawk Valley Community College student Nicholas Phelps of Utica was named a winner of the 2018-19 Best of SUNY Student Art Exhibition, which showcases work by student artists from across SUNY’s 64 campuses.
Phelps, a Photography major, won for his piece, “Virgin River at Angel’s Landing,” which will be on display at the State University Plaza in Albany through mid-December. Phelps also received a $1,000 scholarship. He will be honored at the June 25 reception and awards ceremony hosted by SUNY Chancellor Kristina Johnson at SUNY System Administration in Albany.
Mohawk Valley Community College’s Art Department offers programs in Digital Animation, Fine Arts, Graphic Arts Technology, Graphic Design, Illustration, Media Marketing and Management, and Photography.
