Mohawk Valley Community College has signed new transfer agreements with SUNY Potsdam and SUNY Cobleskill. Both agreements will help students who graduate from MVCC transfer seamlessly into a bachelor’s degree program.

The agreement with SUNY Potsdam gives students who graduated from MVCC’s Liberal Arts and Sciences: Math & Science: Geology degree program guaranteed admission to either the B.A. or B.S. degrees in geology at SUNY Potsdam. Students will need to complete an additional 58 to 60 credits to earn their bachelor’s degree. Transfer scholarships are available to students who graduate with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and are renewable for one year if the student maintains that GPA.

The two new agreements with SUNY Cobleskill are the most recent to be added in the past two months. These agreements guarantee admission to graduates of MVCC’s A.S. and A.A.S. Business Administration programs who have a GPA of 2.25 or greater to SUNY Cobleskill’s B.B.A. degree in business administration. Students who meet the requirements will be accepted as full juniors and will only need 58 additional credits to complete the bachelor’s degree program.

“Our consistently expanding relationship with four-year SUNY schools enables our students to get a solid, affordable education without going far from home,” said Michael Henningsen, coordinator of MVCC’s University Partners and Transfer Center. “The seamless transfer and guaranteed admission for eligible students also allows MVCC graduates to earn their degrees with peace of mind that they’ve spent their time and money effectively.”
