Mohawk Valley Community College announces the following new appointments, employee title changes, and promotions approved by the Board of Trustees at the June and July meetings:

Beth Dubeck has been appointed to the position of Instructor in the School of STEM-Career. She will provide instruction, assist senior faculty in course revisions and curriculum writing, advise students, serve on College and departmental committees, and perform other appropriate professional obligations. Dubeck has several years of experience teaching at the high school and college level in the electrical technology, chemistry, and math fields. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering Practice from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Mass.
Rachel Maiolo has transitioned to the grant-funded position of Workforce Navigator. She will be responsible for meeting community workforce development needs by working with individuals to onboard them into training opportunities, connect trainees with jobs, and maintain relationships with completers to facilitate subsequent upskilling. She has been working at MVCC since August 2023 as a FastTrack Navigator. Her past experience includes positions as Career Exploration Specialist at Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES and Behavior Interventionist at the Mainstay Academy in McDonough, Ga. She holds an associate degree in Human Services from MVCC.
Wade Wollaber has been appointed to the position of Instructor in the School of STEM-Career. He will provide instruction, assist senior faculty in course revisions and curriculum writing, advise students, serve on College and departmental committees, and perform other appropriate professional obligations. Wollaber has several years of experience as a CNC programmer, lathe machinist, advanced machine setter, and machine operator specialist, and he has been an adjunct instructor at MVCC since January 2020. Wollaber is also the owner of Precision Metals and Arms, LLC, in Rome, N.Y. He holds an associate degree in Welding Technology and a certificate in CNC Machinist Technology from MVCC, and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Technology Management, from Alfred State University.
Brett Carguello has been appointed to the position of Admissions Specialist. He will work with the Director of Admissions to develop and implement an admissions recruitment plan that is consistent with the College’s strategic plan and initiatives. Carguello will be responsible for recruiting students to achieve college enrollment objectives by working with high school counselors, adult learners, community agencies, and local businesses; participating in information programs; and assisting students in the selection of educational programs. Carguello worked in the Admissions Office at Cazenovia College since 2003, where he most recently served as Associate Director of Admissions. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Elmira College.
Sara Cutright has transitioned from Technical Assistant to the grant-funded position of Coordinator of Workforce Development in the Center for Corporate and Community Education. She will be responsible for meeting regional workforce development needs by coordinating the development and delivery of educational programs. Cutright holds an associate degree in Educational Sign Language Interpretation from MVCC, an associate degree in Human Resources Management from Herkimer College, and a bachelor of arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from SUNY Polytechnic Institute.
Sarah Lam has transitioned to the position of Executive Dean of Community and Workforce Development in the Center for Corporate and Community Education. Lam will be responsible for the proper administration and efficient operation of the community and workforce development functions at the College. Her primary responsibilities are to provide vision, leadership, direction, and supervision for workforce and community development programs in collaboration with the Vice President for Learning and Academic Affairs. Lam has worked at MVCC since 2012, holding positions as Adjunct Instructor, Director of the Education Center, and Director and Dean of Community and Workforce Development. She also held positions at the Workforce Investment Board and Oneida County Workforce Development Center. Lam holds a bachelor of science in Childhood Education and a master’s degree in Education and Literacy from SUNY Cortland.
NeDavius Ladmirault has been appointed to the position of Multimedia Designer in the Office of Marketing and Communications. He will assist with the development of the College’s digital footprint and by working with a graphic designer, web developer, content developers, as well as writers, photographers and videographers, on the creation of print and multimedia graphics, and their integration into motion graphics for use in various digital media. Previously, Ladmirault was the Coordinator of Graphic Design for the Fashion Institute of Technology, and he is a freelance art director and designer. He holds an associate degree in Applied Science and Communication Design and a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Advertising and Digital Design from FIT in New York City.
In recognition of her many years of outstanding service, Carolyn West Pace has been named Professor Emerita.
Vanessa Cole has been appointed to the position of Accessibility Resources Transitional Support Specialist. She will work closely with the Coordinator of Accessibility Resources to coordinate and provide campus-wide assistive technology and other accommodative services and resources for students with learning and other disabilities. Cole has been a part-time Neurodiversity Specialist in the office since 2023. She holds an associate degree in Human Services from MVCC.
San Solu has been appointed to the position of Instructor in the School of Humanities. He will provide instruction, assist senior faculty in course revisions and curriculum writing, advise students, serve on College and departmental committees, and perform other appropriate professional obligations. Solu has several years’ experience teaching Art History at Middlesex County College in Edison, N.J.; Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J., Raritan Valley Community College in Somerville, N.J., and most recently at James Sprunt Community College in Kenansville, N.C. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in Art History and Communication from Kean University in Union, N.J., and a master’s degree in Art History from Rutgers University.
