This spring, Mohawk Valley Community College will host hands-on community workshops, including candle-making, exploring creativity, and 3D modeling.

The Candle-Making Workshop will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, in Wilcox Hall room 225 at the College’s Utica Campus. Right Mind Syracuse will lead participants in making a set of two scented soy wax candles to take home. Tickets are limited and cost $20 for the public, $15 for MVCC employees, and are free for MVCC students.

The Exploring Creativity Workshop will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 18, in Wilcox Hall room 225 at MVCC’s Utica Campus. Noted author and artist Bernie Freytag, a 1989 graduate of MVCC, will discuss his artistic journey and creative process before collaborating with attendees in creative exploration. Admission is free.

The 3D Modeling Workshop will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 26, in Academic Building room 280 at the Utica Campus. MVCC School of Art faculty members Scot Connor and Josh Piejko will lead this hands-on experience in 3D modeling using industry creation software, showing participants how 3D content is created for games and animation. No prior experience is required. Admission is free.
