shane meekerThe Center for Leadership Excellence (CLE) at Mohawk Valley Community College is hosting a virtual event 8:30 a.m. to noon Friday, Nov. 13, called “The Power of Possibilities: Your Organization’s Story and Harnessing What’s Possible.” This event is part of the CLE’s Disruption Dialogues series, events that are half-day immersion experiences for companies to learn about innovative techniques to use in their own organizational cultures. The cost to attend is $150 per person, and group pricing is available.

This interactive session will provide an accessible framework that when combined with the power of storytelling, will help participants to more intentionally identify possibilities and bring them into actionable realities.

Shane Meeker, a nationally recognized storytelling speaker, author, coach, and founder of StoryMythos, will give a keynote. He knows the challenges that businesses and brands experience as they try to stand out in a crowded marketplace. After years of research and study of the film industry, he developed a way to take his favorite movies and apply their story methods to the business and branding world. In fact, he often tells audiences that you can solve almost any business problem with what works in Star Wars!

Several local leaders also will serve as guest speakers throughout the event, including Tim Giarrusso, president/CEO, Human Technologies Corporation; Cathy Newell, president/CEO, Mohawk Ltd.; and Edward Welsh, president/CEO of Central Association for the Blind and Visual Impaired.
