Mohawk Valley Community College’s Center for Corporate and Community Education is accepting applications for AmeriCorps, a free skills training and volunteer service program to train individuals aged 18 to 24 in Rome, N.Y. The six-month cohort will run Mondays through Fridays beginning March 4, with activities totaling 30 hours per week. Eligibility is limited to individuals 18 to 24 years old. Seating is limited and participants are approved on a first-come, first-served basis.

Members will receive entry-level construction training as well as soft skills training, resumé building, and job searching assistance. Members will receive a weekly stipend for their participation and an education award to be used toward the cost of college tuition after completion of the eight-month program.
