  • UL" approved 14 gauge/15 amp strip style surge protector with an on/off switch (ONLY ACCEPTABLE EXTENSION CORD)
  • Refrigerator - 1.7 cubic feet (the small college cube size) is recommended.  Maximum size refrigerator is 3.2 cubic feet.
  • Microwaves up to 1.1. cubic feet.  ONLY allowed in Bellamy Hall  Gathering Rooms (not student bedroom) per fire code.
  • Cell phone
  • Computer (No wireless routers allowed as our system is wireless and it will cause interference).  IF you are bringing a desktop computer, the Internet will support both 2.4 Gigahertz or 5.0 Gigahertz wireless card.
  • Alarm clock
  • Room fan
  • Hair styling equipment WITH AUTO SHUT OFF
  • Television for streaming
  • TV Antenna if you wish to access local cable channels
  • All your chargers - an extra if you have some
  • Any necessary passwords
  • Headphones
  • Posters
  • Pictures from home

  • Carpet or small throw rug
  • Identification: driver's license, social security card copy, birth certificate copy (original needed if you plan to work on campus)

What to leave at home

  • Wireless Routers
  • Pets (other than non-carnivorous fish requiring no filter, heater or lights).  ESA requests should be submitted to Residence Life
  • Standard household extension cords (Zip Cords) and plug adapters
  • Personal Microwave ovens - these are ONLY allowed in the Bellamy Hall Suite Gathering Rooms
  • Heat producing cooking appliances, such as coffee pots. There is no cooking in the Residence Hall rooms or public areas (Keurig's allowed if registered with R.A.)
  • Candles, incense, Plug–in fresheners
  • Halogen and lava lamps, electric blankets, space heaters, "holiday" lights, heating pads, air conditioners
  • Alcohol and alcohol containers
  • Excessive noise devices; amplifiers, excessive speakers
  • Hair Styling Irons or clothes irons WITHOUT AUTO-SHUT OFF
  • Cinder blocks (our beds raise higher by design so they are not needed)
  • Outside furniture
  • Weightlifting apparatus
  • Firearms/fireworks/utility knives greater than 3"
  • Dartboards
  • BBQ grills
