Fire code does not allow students to have microwaves in student bedrooms.

We understand how important your room assignment is. The Residence Life Office uses the information provided on the Housing Information & Preference Form for room assignment whenever possible. Each student will have an opportunity to identify traits such as type of music preferred, bedtime, wake up time, hobbies, activities, etc. Certain preferences, such as a specific building, a single room, etc. are limited. We make all attempts to accommodate each request as vacancies allow.
You will receive an email to your student email from the Residence Life Office approximately 3 weeks prior to your arrival explaining what room you will be living in and who your roommate is, if applicable. This is done via a portal which allows you to message your roommate.
If there is a room conflict, the students should first see their R.A. and they will attempt to resolve any conflicts. If a room change is still requested, the professional Residence Hall staff will make all attempts to honor the request.
You sure can. It is essential that both roommates request each other on their preference form.

Today's electronics are small and unfortunately easily stolen. Room Safes, similar to safes you find in hotel rooms, are highly recommended to safeguard your important documents, electronics such as your laptop or tablet and your purse or wallet. These safes can be connected with a security cable and attached to your bed frame. Safes can be purchased personally at a store of your choice.
Due to a significant lack of demand, landline telephones are no longer in the Residence Hall rooms. It is recommended that students have a cell phone when they reside on-campus so that they can register for MVCC Emergency Alert. MVCC Emergency Alert is our emergency notification system on campus. Students can register for MVCC Emergency Alert on their MyMV account.
There are "Assistance Phones" on each floor from which students can contact Public Safety & the RA on Duty.
The Residence Halls have a new robust WiFi provided by Spectrum.
