fact, SUNY considers them essential competencies that all college students must complete.
In this session, we'll talk about how to embed these effectively into courses and
programs, and ways we can assess them to make sure that this learning is happening
and our students will be prepared for their futures.

Making an Argument for Success in the Classroom | 2:45 - 3:45 p.m.

How many times have you heard "why do we have to do this?" or "how is this going to
help us?" It turns out that a big part of teaching is getting students to buy into
the learning process. By answering the big questions "says who?" "so what?" and "now
what?" while teaching we can model good argument structure while encouraging students
to buy into the things we teach every day.
