E-Portfolios: Exploring the Experiential Essentials

use this tool to support learning progression, foster student engagement and assessment

After the murder of George Floyd, many white people realized they wanted to make
their own communities and organizations better, but often are unsure of the best ways.
What is racism and how does it work? What is a white ally and how can I be a better
one? In this workshop, we will provide you with an understanding of the best role
of a white ally, as well as giving you specific actions and tactics that you can employ
immediately. We will also make you aware of the challenges and pitfalls people often
fall into even with the best intentions. Move from best intentions to best outcomes.

Navigating student mental health can be challenging, with COVID and distance learning
adding an additional layer of complexity. This workshop will assist faculty and
staff in differentiating between students in distress, crisis, and mental health emergencies.
Counselors will also review supports available during and after business hours, who
to contact in the event of a crisis or emergency, and a review of when and how to

Safe Space Training: Part 1 of 2

The Campus Pride Safe Space Program is a nationally recognized program that provides
training and signage for institutions committed to supporting LGBTQ students and their
allies. This training will explain the difference between sexual orientation, gender
identity and gender expression; define terminology used to describe sexual orientation,
gender identity and gender expression; identify ways to create an inclusive classroom
and campus space for LGBTQ students; explore ways to support LGBTQ people in the coming
out process. IMPORTANT NOTE: This session is split over 2 days, with the second
half on Wednesday, August 26th from 2:30-4:30p.m.

As we head into the fall semester, we still find ourselves in the midst of a pandemic.
The changes to our lives have undoubtedly instigated new levels of stress. Because
of these changes, studies are showing that more individuals have turned to the natural
world to bring about much needed solace and rejuvenation. Such a respite can be found
right outside your windows. If you have found yourself becoming more curious about
the birds you encounter in your environment, join me as I take you on a journey to
explore the wonders of birdwatching. We will discuss the art of birdwatching, how
to get started, common backyard birds, and feeding your backyard guests. WARNING
- Exposure to birdwatching can lead to addiction. However, it has been found that
