Keuka College

Mohawk Valley Community College and Keuka College have partnered together to offer 4 Bachelor degree programs and 1 Master's program here in the Mohawk Valley community. Three of these programs are offered right here at Mohawk Valley Community College, one at the St. Luke's Medical campus, and one out in the community. This partnership will allow students the opportunity to continue their educational endeavors in programs that are not currently found in the area and/or offered in a way that is convenient for most working adults.

Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSW)

If you have a strong desire to help improve people's lives, or a passion for social justice, Keuka College's social work program provides the opportunity to effect change. Our students are prepared to work in a rapidly changing, multicultural society, with coursework that blends theory with practical application. Classes rooted in policy, practice and human behavior will help you promote  themes of social justice and social responsibility. You'll learn how to support clients in obtaining needed services and to help improve their quality of life. Develop your practical competency during your capstone course, Field Practicum, where you'll be placed as a professional-in-training in a human services agency. When you're finished, you'll be prepared for careers in a variety of fields, including substance abuse, mental health, social welfare, aging programs, community outreach, family and youth services, and more. This professional degree is nationally recognized and our students are prepared and encouraged to pursue advances standing master's level social work programs after graduation.

Prerequisite Requirements

*Completion of an associate's degree, or 60 or more transferrable credits from an accredited institution**

*Minimum GPA of a 2.0 on a 4.0 scale

*Successful completion of the required prerequisite courses noted below

*Applicants must demonstrate an appropriate combination of maturity, experience, and motivation.

**NOTE: Some applicants may need additional credits to meet prerequisite, liberal arts, or graduation requirements.

Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management

In a world where communication is key, Keuka College's bachelor's in Organizational Management provides adult learners with the change to refine their methods. Immersed in classes that combine communication with business, you'll prepare for careers in a variety of fields, including human services, health care, corporate relations, sales, marketing, entrepreneurship and more. Our students find jobs and begin their careers in profit and non-for-profit organizations. You'll learn resources such as money, equipment, information and people when making fact-based decisions. The program encourages a high level of personal development and gives you a foundation in business, and in the soft skills needed to be an effective leader and motivator. The program culminates with the creation of a Capstone Experiential Portfolio, which acts as a record of the insights you will gain from this real world experience. Further, the Capstone Experiential Portfolio builds value in both your personal and professional life  by outlining how you plan to apply this new knowledge to your life and career.

Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Systems

If you've made the study of crime and social justice your career and want a competitive edge, or if you're looking to break into the field, Keuka College's B.S.. in Criminal Justice Systems can help you meet your goals. Through hard work and study, our criminal justice program opens the door for careers in law enforcement, public and private investigations, corrections, probation, education, law, juvenile services or intelligence. From classes in crime solving to theories and practices surrounding punishment and corrections, you'll enhance your understanding of the criminal justice system. When your two years come to a close, you will have broadened knowledge of criminal justice issues, deeper analytical skills, and a firm foundation in research to support investigations. Throughout the program, you'll complete an Action Research Project (ARP) as the real-world capstone to your studies. You'll receive the tools to identify a workplace issue and then develop a solution to put into practice. Our students tell us that the results of their ARP are often implemented in their workplace, which builds value for their employer and their career.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing for RNs

Keuka College's RN to B.S.. in Nursing (RN to BSN) curriculum is designed for registered nurses (RNs) who have as associate's degree and wish to advance their careers in health care. The program extends beyond the clinical aspects of nursing to provide a background in patient education, health promotion, and technology integration. With a classroom-based format and experiences nursing faculty, you'll enhance your personal goals, increase earnings and improve job security. In your Field Period course, you'll be asked to experience a new nursing area of your own choosing. You'll develop new skills as you examine your practice throughout a different lens. Upon graduation, our students are prepared to specialize in a variety of areas, including community health, outpatient medicine, military health, school health, home care, or specialty services.

Prerequisite Requirements

*Completion of an associate's degree, or 60 or more transferrable credits from an accredited institution**

*Minimum GPA of a 2.0 on a 4.0 scale

*Applicants must hold an unencumbered NYS license and current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN)

*Applicants must be currently working as an RN either full or part-time

*Successful completion of the required prerequisite courses noted below

*Applicants must demonstrate an appropriate combination of maturity, experience, and motivation.

Master of Science in Management

Fine tune your leadership and decision-making skills with Keuka College's master's in management. In less than two years, you'll be prepared to take the next step in your career. Whether you work in health care, manufacturing, retail, banking and financial services, education, law enforcement, or project management, you'll learn the transferrable skills needed to become a successful manager and to develop your personal leadership style. Unlike a traditional MBA degree, which heavily depends on accounting and math, our master's in management concentrates on the development of the individual within an organization. Throughout your program, you'll apply class concepts directly to the workplace and begin to examine critical issues within your organization. The program culminates with an Action Research Project (ARP)--a three part course where students observe a workplace issue and develop a solution to put into practice. The ARP helps you learn about your project management and helps build value for your employer.
