Priority Registration

Priority Registration is a process during which students closest to graduation are given the first opportunity to register online for their courses for next semester. Please refer to the Academic Calendar for Priority Registration weeks.

Only matriculated students (those in a degree or certificate program) are assigned a Priority Registration time slot. Priority registration times are assigned based on the cumulative number of credits you have earned at MVCC.  You will receive notification of your assigned date and time via MVCC email. Just before and during the Priority Registration time period, you can also find your time slot in SIRS under the Registration Menu. Your registration time will appear when you click on “Build Your Class Schedule.”

At the end of the Priority Registration period, both matriculated and non-matriculated students can register in person at the Office of Records and Registration in Utica or the Registrar’s-Business Office on the Rome campus. Scheduling for classes will continue on the web through the end of the first week of classes.
