Proctored exams
Proctors are individuals who are responsible for supervising students as they take an exam to ensure educational integrity. Examples of acceptable proctors are:
- College Testing Center
- College Librarian
Relatives, friends, or co-workers are NOT eligible to proctor exams. Proctors must have a professional email address ending in .edu, .gov, etc. Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, or similar addresses will NOT be accepted. For more information, please call 315-731-5802 or email placement@mvcc.edu.
Please note: There is a $35 charge for this service, payable on the day of testing. Individuals using campus services also must follow current COVID-19 guidelines.
Remote testing and proctoring
Students living a significant distance from MVCC campuses or who are selecting an online course may request to take the placement test at an approved location closer to home (college testing centers are the only approved locations/proctors for the MVCC Placement Test). After completing your test, please contact the MVCC Testing Center for further instructions. Please note there is usually a fee required by the remote testing site.
Online proctoring for MVCC Testing
The MVCC Testing Center uses B-Virtual as its online proctoring service for students living farther than 50 miles from MVCC's campuses. Please note that B-Virtual charges a non-refundable $25 fee for the service, and students must have access to both the internet and a web cam. Please call the Testing Center at 315-731-5802 to discuss available options.
Host testing services
The MVCC Testing Center also can serve as a proctor for another college's placement test or college course exams.
Non-MVCC students looking to use our Testing Center for proctored exams by other colleges must present a valid photo ID that matches the name of the tester scheduled for the designated test session. Please note that a service charge of $35 is required and may be paid by cash or credit card (excluding American Express) on the day of testing.
Host proctoring services are available 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please note that any scheduled appointments must be concluded by 4:30 p.m. Appointments are subject to availability. For more information, please call 315-731-5802.
