Jun 6, 2018
Mohawk Valley Community College graduate Doe Keh of Utica was named one of three winners of the 2017-2018 Best of SUNY Student Art Exhibition, which showcases work by student artists from across SUNY’s 64 campuses.
Keh, a photography major who graduated in May, won for his piece, “Day Dreaming,” which will be on display at the State University Plaza in Albany through mid-December. Keh also received a $1,000 scholarship.
“In an era focused on big data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, it’s easy to overlook the importance of the humanities, but the liberal arts will help create a generation that can think critically and creatively — art is a huge part of that,” said SUNY Chancellor Kristina M. Johnson. “Congratulations to all of our students who are in the Best of SUNY Student Art Exhibition, and I thank them for sharing a part of themselves through their inspiring and passionate artwork.”
Four other MVCC art students were finalists in the SUNY 2017-2018 Best of Student Art Spring Exhibition. They are:
- Kristen Alger, for her piece “The Wolf of Yellowstone”
- Quinn Coniguliaro, for his piece “The Cosmic Experience Inn”
- Rachael Duchnycz, for her piece “Home”
- Alison Sbiroli, for her piece “Spider Web”
