Mohawk Valley Community College is holding lectures as part of a Financial Literacy Series. The first lecture, “Financial Recovery,” will take place on Tuesday, March 21, at 11 a.m. in Plumley Complex room 120 on the Rome Campus, 1101 Floyd Ave. The speaker is Nicole K. This one-hour session will help you assess your current financial situation, identify ways to increase income and decrease spending, learn how to develop a financial recovery plan, identify steps to successfully implement a financial recovery plan, recognize how to guard against credit repair scams, and identify timeframes to review and adjust a financial recovery plan.

Three other lectures will be held at 11 a.m. throughout the Spring 2017 semester:

  • “Credit Card Basics,” Wednesday, April 5, PC 120
  • “Money Matters (Money Management),” Tuesday, April 18, PC 119
  • “Buying Your Own Home,” Monday, May 1, PC 119
