MVCC, The Sage Colleges sign articulation agreement for nursing students
Dec 19, 2018
Mohawk Valley Community College and The Sage Colleges in Albany, N.Y., signed an articulation agreement allowing MVCC’s nursing students the opportunity to transfer to The Sage Colleges to obtain their bachelor of science degree in nursing, effective immediately.
This agreement ensures that students who have completed their associate degree in Nursing from MVCC with a 3.00 GPA will only need to complete 64 credits at The Sage Colleges to complete a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Transfer courses must have been passed with at least a “C.” Students also will need a recommendation from the Health Professions Department Associate Dean at MVCC and meet The Sage Colleges’ published standards of admission.
“The Mohawk Valley Community College Nursing program looks forward to this articulation agreement with The Sage Colleges,” said Melissa Copperwheat, associate dean of the Health Professions Department at MVCC. “With many nursing students continuing on to complete a bachelor’s degree, this provides a great opportunity for our students.”
MVCC students interested in transferring can contact The Sage Colleges’ Department of Nursing at any time for advisement and program planning, and students may complete their bachelor’s degree in nursing on a full- or part-time basis.
