Katherine Gleitsmann, of Utica, has been appointed to the position of Marketing Assistant in the Office of Marketing and Communications at Mohawk Valley Community College. As such, she will serve as the primary point of contact for Marketing and Communications. She will provide project management and office support, and coordination of communications projects and services.
Gleitsmann has held several positions where she acquired experience in public relations, reporting, and copy editing, including as an administrative assistant at Gomez and Sullivan Engineers, D.P.C. in Utica, a public relations intern at Utica College’s Office of Marketing and Communications, and two internships at the Utica Observer-Dispatch, one as a report and one on the copy desk. Other experience includes writing an article for USA Today College’s website about job scams and a radio piece for Utica College’s New York Reporting Project about the influence of Greek yogurt-industry leader Chobani.
She holds a Bachelor of Art in English and journalism from Utica College and is pursuing a Master of Science in Information Design and Technology at State University of New York Institute of Technology at Utica/Rome.
