Mohawk Valley Community College has successfully launched a new branding campaign for its athletic programs, providing a fresh and new look for the Hawks.
The campaign began with the creation of a new logo for the Hawks’ athletics, which features a sleek modern adaptation of a hawk’s head along with stylized typography of the college and team name. The new Hawks’ logo is displayed throughout the Jorgensen Athletic and Events Center on the Utica Campus.
The second phase of the rollout was the addition of a mascot for home games, named “Mo Hawk.” Mo Hawk has been appearing at many events around the Utica and Rome campuses, including cheering on runners during this past summer’s Boilermaker.
On November 1, 2013, MVCC launched its new Hawks athletic website found at www.gomvhawks.com. This new website can also be found through any of the athletic links on the current mvcc.edu site. The website provides a fresh look for the College’s athletic programs, which have won 22 NJCAA National Team Championships, 138 NJCAA Individual National Championships and countless regional titles.
The new website spotlights the accomplishments of the teams with new features on the players and the coaching staff. Team and individual statistics are highlighted, and fans can follow the progress of each team throughout their season. Team schedules and contest results are displayed on the homepage with the website being in continual motion with information being updated daily.
