Alexis Jones, founder of I Am That Girl, to speak at MVCC in Utica

Alexis Jones, founder of I Am That Girl and ProtectHer, will give the lecture “Preventing Sexual Harassment & Inspiring Diversity & Inclusivity” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, in Schafer Theater at Mohawk Valley Community College’s Utica Campus as part of the Cultural Series. Tickets are $10 general, $5 for MVCC employees, and free for MVCC students.

Jones, an internationally recognized speaker, author, media personality and activist, works to spread the message, “Be a Good Human,” a solution-based response to the pandemic levels of sexual assault springing up around the nation. In her talk, Jones will inspire a new company culture, not by pointing fingers, blaming, and shaming, but by encouraging both men and women to be an integral and tangible part of the solution moving forward in order to create a new normal, where all humans are treated with dignity and respect.
