MV Talks are TEDx-type talks — brief, powerful talks (18 minutes or less) — focused on spreading ideas about innovation and higher education.
MV Talks will cover a variety of topics — from science to business to education. The talks will welcome people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of education, pedagogy, and the student experience. Using crowdsourcing techniques, MV Talks will build a clearinghouse of free knowledge from the College and community’s most inspired thinkers — and a community of curious souls to engage with ideas and each other. There will be at least one talk per semester, with readings to support the talk, and discussions facilitated in small groups.
Ideas brought to light in the talks will be assessed taking into consideration the reaction to the MV Talk, critical conversations regarding the future of education, and faculty and staff engagement.
If there is an interest in the ideas generated from the MV Talks, the Institute for Intrapreneurship will work with the individuals to create an assessable pilot.
