The Innovation Forum is a brainstorming and discussion group consisting of Hawk Vision members, College community members, and experts on a given topic.
The forum has set up a blog to help facilitate the sharing of ideas and innovation happening at MVCC. Everyone is invited to visit the blog and share current innovative practices and new innovative ideas.
Hawk Vision continually scans the horizon for innovations that may affect higher education five to 10 years in the future. New ideas will then be forwarded to the MVCC Innovation Forum, which will use the Delphi method to bring the College and the community together as a visionary partnership to address the future of education. The Delphi method is a structured communication technique, originally developed as a systematic, interactive forecasting method that relies on a panel of experts on a given topic. The experts answer questionnaires in two or more rounds. After each round, a facilitator provides an anonymous summary of the experts’ forecasts from the previous round, as well as the reasons they provided for their judgments. Thus, experts are encouraged to revise their earlier answers in light of the replies of other members of their panel. It is believed that during this process the range of the answers will decrease and the group will converge toward the "correct" answer.
After the opinions of a variety of anonymous experts build a consensus, the final thought will then be sent to Hawk Vision for a potential MV Talk.
