Letter to Graduate

Have You Applied?

APPLICATION FOR GRADUATION:  This should have been done earlier this semester.

If graduates have not completed this application (or are not sure if this has been completed), they must do so immediately in:

On Thursday, May 9 at 4:00 p.m., Commencement exercises will be held for the Class of 2019 at the Adirondack Bank Center, 400 Oriskany Street West, Utica, NY for all degree and certificate candidates; December, May, and August.  The Commencement speaker is Colonel Timothy J. Lawrence, Director, Information Directorate, and Commander, Detachment 4, Air Force Research Laboratory, Rome, New York.

Graduates should be at the Adirondack Bank Center by 3 p.m.  In the upper level (entrance level) of the Adirondack Bank Center, graduates will be directed to the Commencement Registration & Information Tables where graduates will pick up their Graduation Name Card.  After picking up a Graduation Name Card, graduates will then be directed to the lower concourse/level where they will look for wall posters indicating their academic major.  A faculty member or Marshal will line graduates up in alphabetical order by School/Program/Last Name (make sure not to lose your Graduation Name Card).  And don’t worry about anything, Commencement Marshals will be on-site should you need any assistance.  This is a time to celebrate!

Guests of graduates should go to their seats on the upper level (no tickets are required).

Immediately following the exercises at the Adirondack Bank Center, graduates and their family are invited to return to campus for a reception in their honor. This will begin immediately following the ceremony in the Alumni College Center on MVCC's Utica Campus.

For those outside the area, you may want to log on to Oneida County Tourism for information on hotels, restaurants, attractions and events in our area.

Congratulations!  I look forward to seeing graduates walk across stage.
