Swing into Spring at MVCC
Apr 10, 2013
Now is the time to take those golf lessons you’ve promised yourself for years! Learn from a teaching professional through Mohawk Valley Community College’s Center for Corporate and Community Education. Choose from a five-week beginners’ class or a four-week advanced program – all held at Mohawk Glen Golf Course in Rome.
The beginners’ course concentrates on building the proper golf swing and teaches putting, chipping, driving and more. One session is dedicated to fitting and purchasing equipment, course etiquette, ball flight law, and game theory. For anyone who has ever considered taking up the game, this course promises to be worth the investment. All range and ball rental fees are included. The class will be held on Sundays, April 21 – May 19 from 3:00-4:15 p.m. or 4:30-5:45 p.m. at a cost of $119.
The advanced program concentrates on putting and chipping, basic iron play with shot selection, “hit it high or keep it low,” and wood and tee shots with consideration of distance and accuracy. All range and ball rental fees are included. Participants must have a minimum of three years golfing experience. This class will also be held on Sundays, April 28 – May 19 from 6:00-7:15 p.m. at a cost of $99.
Enrollment is limited and will be taken on a first come basis. For information or to register, call 792-5300 or visit www.mvcc.edu/cced. Office hours are 8:30 a.m.- 7:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
