LA&S Mathematics & Science: Environmental Science & Forestry AS67
Students who desire to obtain a B.S. or B.A. degree in the environmental science and forestry disciplines may apply to a variety of programs at the SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry in Syracuse. Because of the wide-ranging choice of programs at ESF, students must consult specifically with the Pre-ESF Advisor. Students applying for this program should be well prepared in mathematics and science at the high school level. Some of the courses of study available to MVCC graduates include: biological sciences (botany, wildlife biology, forest pathology, entomology, silvics); chemistry (polymer, natural products, biochemistry); engineering (paper-science and forest engineering), landscape architecture and environmental education, to name a few. In addition, MVCC and ESF articulate with a 1+1 program for the School of Forest Technology at the Wanakena campus. High School Mathematics Courses 1 and 2 or the equivalent, and one year of a laboratory science are required. High School Math Course 3 or its its equivalent, Biology, Chemistry and Physics are recommended.
