Priority registration is a process during which students closest to graduation are given the first opportunity to register online for their courses for next semester.

Only matriculated students (those in a degree or certificate program) are assigned a priority registration time slot.

Priority registration times are assigned based on the number of cumulative credits you have earned.

You will receive notification of your assigned date and time via MVCC email. You can also find the information in SIRS under Registration.

The first day to register in person is April 26, 2010.

Online billing is accessible via SIRS. Click the "SIRS Login" link on this page or go to https://bannerweb.mvcc.edu to confirm your balance, view your financial aid, and secure your class schedule.

A waitlist is a list of students who want to register for a course section that is already full.

In SIRS, follow the Registration menu to "Build My Schedule." When you enter a CRN for a course that is full, you will see the words "Waitlisted Course." Use the drop down menu to select the "WL" option and click "Submit."

No. Students are added to the class in the order they joined the waitlist only if space becomes available.

If a seat becomes available for the afternoon section, you will be automatically registered for it and dropped from the morning section.

If space opens up in a completely different course (not a different section of the same course) and creates a time conflict, your schedule will not be automatically changed. In this case you will be sent an email notifying you that a seat has become available. You will have 24 hours to respond if you want to rearrange your schedule to take the waitlisted class.

You will be automatically registered for the class, space permitting. Once you have been moved from the waitlist to the class, you will be notified via email. Always double check your class schedule in SIRS before the start of classes.

In SIRS, follow the Registration menu to "Build My Schedule." Use the drop down menu to change the course indicator from "WL" to "DW" and click "Submit."

Intersession is a period of about three weeks intended to help the student make progress in their program. Courses offered include up to 3.0 credit hours during Intersession. All courses are graded on the normal grading system.

Important Dates:

Registration for Intersession 2010 will open on November 9, 2009 and it will close on December 17, 2009. Use your SIRS account to schedule and pay.

• Classes begin on December 18, 2009
• Last day of classes: January 15, 2010
• Grades Due on January 19, 2010
• Grades available on January 20, 2010

Deadlines Dates:

December 17 Last Day for 100% Refund. Payment in full must be made by 17th 2009 at 4:00 p.m. or student schedules will be cancelled for non-payment.

December 21 Registration after this date requires approval from the instructor of the course and the Dean of the Center offering the course.

December 22 Last Day to drop the course without a "W" on your academic record. Last Day for 25% Refund

January 6, 2010 Last Day to withdraw from the course with a W on your academic record.

Before you schedule your courses, you must take care of the following:

• Check to see if you have any holds. Holds will prevent you from registering for a course. If you have a hold, please contact the office that issued it to clear it.
• Check to see if you meet the pre-requisites for the course.
• If there are any co-requisites for the course you want to take, you must register for all courses at the same time.

Between November 9, 2009 and December 17, 2009

• Go to mvcc.edu
• follow the Student Information and Registration System SIRS link
• Enter you user ID and password
• Click on the Term for Intersession 2010
• Click on Registration Menu
• Click on Build your Schedule
• Enter the CRNs and submit your choices
• Click submit

REGISTRATION IS A TWO STEP PROCESS:

1. SCHEDULING: Temporarily reserves your class schedule. Please complete step 2 below.
2. PAYMENT AND SCHEDULED CANCELLATION: Payment for all courses is due by 4:00 p.m. on December 17, 2009. EASIEST WAY TO PAY: Use your SIRS account from www.mvcc.edu website. If you are paying your balance in full there is no additional charge to pay online.

PLEASE NOTE: Financial aid cannot be used for Intersession payment. Payment Plans are not available.
