Student Housing

Housing for summer is made available to all students who have officially registered for summer classes at MVCC or for internships through other colleges.

Proof of registration or internship must be presented to and accepted by the Residence Life Office prior to moving in.

Summer students are housed in New Hall. New Hall is a "Suite Style" hall, designed as 5 person, air-conditioned suites, consisting of two double bedrooms, one single bedroom, one and a half bathrooms, and a private gathering area.

The hall offers "flex" rooms for study or relaxation, "Internet-Based" laundry facilities and a wonderful Game Room with activities such as billiards available to all residence hall students.

Students may move into the Residence Halls one day prior to classes and must vacate within 24 hours of their last final exam.

A kitchen, including a microwave, small food preparation area and stove/oven is available for your use in the Residence Hall to prepare simple meals and snacks. Personal refrigerators must be "UL" approved and not exceed 2.7 cubic feet. Microfridges may be available for rental by calling 800-423-9220 or at www.rentalcompanyone.com.

Cost

The fee for summer residents is based on the following schedule, payable in advance. Financial Aid deferrals are accepted if all financial aid paperwork is completed prior to arrival. You will also be charged a $100.00 security/damage deposit fee, returnable at the end of your residency, minus any damage/loss costs you may incur. This deposit fee and room rent must be paid/deferred prior to check-in.

Classes for the 2007 summer session begin on Monday, May 21st. Students may move into the Residence Halls after 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 20th. All Residence Hall rules and regulations will be observed as stated in the Residence Hall Handbook.

All fees may be paid in the Auxiliary Services Corporation Office, located in room 206 of the Alumni College Center or as part of your college bill in the business office.

Note: If you enroll in two summer class sessions (i.e. 1st five week and 1st eight week) payment will be adjusted accordingly so that it is equivalent of $80.00 (double occupancy) or $100.00 (single occupancy) per each week of occupancy.
