Coach LaFountain is in her first season at Mohawk Valley C.C. She started her coaching career in 2008 at the University of Louisville under Head coach Sandy Pearsall, Associate Head coach Carol Bruggeman. As a student-assistant, LaFountain helped coach the cardinals to an overall 31-23 record, and the program´s 5th consecutive regional tournament appearance. As she made the move to Utica, NY, LaFountain took a year off from coaching to get to know the softball community by instructing individual and group lessons, and running hitting clinics at area high schools. During this time she was also a personal trainer at the All-American Fitness Center(New Hartford, NY) and the gir´s strength & conditioning coach at Notre Dame junior/senior school(Utica,NY).
University of Louisville (2004-2007): Graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Health & Human Performance, concentration in Exercise Science and Sports Medicine. Rendon, a 4-year starter at 3B for the cardinals earned 3 Conference Championships, 4 Regional appearances, 4 First Team All-Conference Selection 3B, multiple All-Tournament selections, and 2004 Freshman of the Year. In 2007 she was named University of Louisville Female Spring Sport Athlete of the Year. 2006 BIG EAST Academic All-Star, named to the Athletic Director´s honor roll in the fall and spring, named to the Academic Dean´s List in the spring. NCAA statistical leader- 1st in the nation in triples per-game. She owns the school records for hits, triples, assists, and stolen bases, and second on school career list for runs scored.
Professional: National Pro-Fastpitch League (NPF) 2007-2009; in 2007, a 4th round draft pick by the Rockford Thunder, Rendon hit.281 with 28 hits, had six multiple hit games, committed only five errors on the season. Rendon in her 2nd season with the Rockford Thunder started at 3B and SS, and hit .245. In two seasons with the Thunder, she batted .263 with 53 hits, scored 20 runs, and has collected four doubles, three triples, 10 stolen bases and 16 runs batted in. In 2009 LaFountain was traded to the Philadelphia Force to play short-stop in exchange for the Force’s 2010 second round draft pick. Personal: Maiden name Audrey Rendon from Pueblo, Colorado, moved to Utica, NY after marrying Jason "J.T." LaFountain(Proctor Graduate) in September 2008. They now live in Whitesboro, NY and are expecting their first born in late April 2010.
