Head Coach: Rob Seymour
Coach Seymour resides in Clinton with his wife Heather and son Daniel. Coach is an accountant with Mohawk Valley EDGE. Mohawk Valley EDGE is an economic development corporation for Oneida and Herkimer counties. Coach has worked for Mohawk Valley EDGE since March of 2007. Before that Coach was the Operations Manager for the College’s Bookstore, where we worked for 10 years. Coach took over the Hawks hockey program in July of 2003. The team has improved on its previous seasons win total every year since. During the 2006–2007 season Coach was named second team coach of the year, by his fellow coaches.
Coach is a 1996 graduate of Clinton Central Schools and was a member of the 1996 State Championship Team that went 22–2. While in high school Coach was a two time section all–star. Upon graduation Coach attended Mohawk Valley Community College. While at MVCC Coach was a team captain, named to the all-region team, and was named MVCC Alumni Award winner following the 1997-1998 season. Coach then earned his bachelor’s degree in Business/Public Management from SUNY Institute of Technology. While working on his bachelor’s degree Coach was an unpaid assistant coach for three seasons. The 2000–2001 season he was with Rome Youth Hockey. The following two seasons were with Whitesboro High School, the 2001–2002 and 2002–2003 seasons. The 2002–2003 team won the New York State Championship. Coach realizes the importance of academics and demands a strong work ethic on the ice and in the class room. He hopes to have all members enjoy the season and better themselves as players and individuals.
Assistant Coach: Bjorn Erik Norlie Mokksnes
A native of Oslo, Norway Coach Mokksnes played for Frisk Asker Hockey until the age of 18 where he contributed to two Norwegian Championships and many regional titles. Bjorn played for Holmen for one year before spending a year of military training. He then went on to play for Mohawk Valley CC from 2000–2002. Bjorn was the team captain during his sophomore season. Mr. Mokksnes assisted with the Hawks Hockey program in 2003 completing his A.A.S. degree in Business Management. After a brief return to Norway Coach Mokksnes has made his home in Marcy, NY with his wife Heather and two daughters Lilliana Angel and Katrina. He has since opened his own business in New York Mills, NY. Coach Mokksnes believes strongly that hard work, discipline, and commitment will make MVCC a winning team.
