32 Time NJCAA Post Season Participant
The Program
The MVCC Baseball program prides itself on being one of the most successful Junior College programs in the Country. The Hawks have competed in NJCAA Post Season Play 32 times in the program's 46 year history. MVCC Baseball has sent many players on to four year colleges with some earning scholarships. Some of the schools that Hawk players have transferred to with scholarships include; West Virginia, Pace, Purdue, Jacksonville, and Francis Marion (S.C. D-II). Still other players have gone on to SUNY D-III Colleges such as Cortland, Brockport, and Oswego to name a few. MVCC has even had numerous players drafted by professional baseball organizations. The Baseball program at MVCC is year round starting with Fall baseball where the team combines intersquad games with practices and games against other colleges and clubs. The Fall season starts at the end of August and runs through until the beginning of October. The off season program begins in mid October with scheduled team hitting and pitcher's workouts at the MVCC P.E. Complex. The Hawks also have an off season strength training program that is unmatched by any other Junior College. The final segment begins at the end of January with spring practices before the team takes a week-long trip to North Carolina to get ready for the up-coming season. The Hawks program plays the toughest schedule in the region when they return from their southern trip. The season culminates with a possible bid to the Region III Tournament where the winner will play at the NJCAA D-III World Series. On top of all of this, MVCC has one of the best intercollegiate baseball facilities in the entire Northeast (Donovan Stadium at Murnane Field).
