Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology
MVCC’s Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology program is a great start to a career in the growing field of nanotechnology. Students will receive instruction in related academic subjects, safety procedures, statistical process control techniques, and the operation of machinery and equipment for the fabrication and processing of semiconductors. The chip manufacturing process is evolving with new methods of manufacturing that require new work skills, greater automation, and a flexible workforce. This degree meets these challenges.
Students will take classes in circuits, electronics, computer programming, high-vacuum technology, modern production methods and statistical quality control, motors and controls, fluid mechanics, chemistry, and semiconductor manufacturing, as well as the core physical education, English, math, and social science.
Graduates enter the workforce with the technical knowledge and problem-solving and teamwork skills necessary to get a job in the industry. The program is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
