Work Experience at MVCC: 33 years

Bio: Alongside his interest in science and engineering, Professor Fiore is also a musician, playing multiple instruments, and is a competitive distance runner. He has won several local races over the years and has placed very high in large regional competitions, including winning master’s division prize money at the Utica Boilermaker 15k. He is a past president and board member of the Utica Roadrunners organization.

Industrial Experience: Professor Fiore is the author of a text on operational amplifiers and linear integrated circuits; six laboratory manuals covering circuit theory, semiconductors and programming; and two software user’s manuals. He has also authored over 30 articles in the fields of audio, musical electronics and computer programming. His primary area of research interest is digital audio signal processing. To this end he established a consulting and software venture in the 1980s which produced a variety of both commercial and open resource software titles including a loudspeaker CAD package and a digital audio analysis and editing system. This is a continuing venture and Professor Fiore remains dedicated to the growing open educational resource movement.

Awards Received: In 2014, Fiore received the MVCC Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activities. He won the 2013 MVCC Aeries Award for Community Service.
