Description: Edward V. Mele was the son of an Italian immigrant from New York City. He moved his father’s jewelry box manufacturing business to Utica back in the mid 1950’s. Mele, was more than a successful business leader, he was a compassionate benefactor in his community.
Amount Awarded: $2,500 as tuition credit
Criteria Checklist:
- Must be an incoming freshman having recently graduated from high school
- Must have a GPA of 85 or higher or
- Be a first-year MVCC student continuing at MVCC for their second year, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Must be residents of Oneida, Herkimer or Madison Counties
