Douglas J. Bauer Excellence-in-Chemistry
Description: Professor Douglas Bauer was an instructor in the Mathematics and Science Department in 1963. He was widely known for his “Magic of Chemistry” presentation at the college’s annual Open Houses.
Prevalere Life Sciences
Description: Prevalere Life Sciences, Inc. will partner with MVCC for an annual second-year scholarship and internship program.
Rudolph A. Schatzel
Description: Awarded to a graduating senior from MVCC who has been accepted into a transfer program in Mathematics, Engineering, or one of the Physical Sciences, at an accredited four-year college or university.
George Abdoo Memorial
Description: Electrical Engineering Technology and Electrical Service Technician students may apply for and/or be nominated for this scholarship.
Ballou/Feldmeier
Description: This award is given to students in the Surveying Technology Program.
Civil Engineering Scholarship Fund
Description: Full-Time Civil Engineering Technology Student who have completed on semester and who have achieved a minimum GPA of 2.5 are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Walter F. Davis Memorial
Description: This award is given to a first-year electrical service technology candidate.

Description: An incoming high school student interested in studying Engineering Technology and the Trades.
John Ganey Memorial Scholarship
Description: The New York Propane Gas Association (NYPGA) sponsors this award do a 2nd year student in HVAC program.
General Electric
Description: This award will be presented to the top freshman in the electrical engineering technology program.
Gerald E. Griffin Memorial Scholarship
Description: The shareholders of Varflex Corporation wished to honor their brother, Gerald E. Griffin, former shareholder and President of the company, by creating a scholarship to be awarded to a full time student in an Engineering Technology and The Trades Program at Mohawk Valley Community College.
Celeste Lawton
Description: This award will be presented to a student enrolled in the Electrical Engineering Technology program.
Samuel J. Marchio Memorial
Description: This scholarship is given in memory of Samuel Marchio ‘81 who was a graduate of MVCC in Civil Engineering Technology. Sam was active with the Laborers Local Union #35 and in the field for 25 years.
Albert V. Payne Memorial
Description: In memory of Albert V. Payne, the first President of the NY State Institute of Applied Arts & Sciences of Utica (later to become MVCC).

Alfio Santucci
Description: This scholarship is made possible by Gloria Santucci, Alfio’s sister. Throughout Alfio’s 56-year career, he championed the field of land surveying.
Frank P. Tobiasz Memorial Scholarship for Mechanical and Manufacturing Programs
Description: In memory of Frank P. Tobiasz who passed away unexpectedly on August 31, 2008. The scholarship has been established as a way to preserve Frank’s memory by providing scholarship assistance to deserving students in Mechanical and Manufacturing Programs. Through his 37 year tenure, Frank served under every president in the College’s existence. He served as department head for 3 years in the Mechanical-Civil Engineering Technology Department.
Anthony Torchia Memorial
Description: In memory of 19-year-old student Anthony Torchia whose life ended prematurely in a tragic car accident on May 6, 2000. The scholarship has been established as a way to preserve Anthony’s memory by providing scholarship assistance to deserving students in the Electrical Engineering Technology curriculum.
