New Students

Returning Degree-Seeking Students

It is recommended that returning matriculated students consult with an advisor to plan their courses and check prerequisites before registering. Students should also make sure they have no holds on their account that would prevent them from registering.

1. Schedule Online using SIRS

a. Look up courses and note their CRNs (course reference numbers)  www.mvcc.edu/course-search
b. Log in to SIRS  bannerweb.mvcc.edu/
c. From the Main Menu go to the Registration Menu
d. Go to Build Your Schedule or Add/Drop Classes
e. Select a Term and click SUBMIT
f.  Enter CRNs and click SUBMIT
g. Return to Registration Menu and choose Concise Student Schedule
h. Review schedule for accuracy and print schedule
i.  Return to Main Menu and choose VIEW MY BILL, PAY MY BILL, CONFIRM MY CHARGES
j.  Select appropriate payment option and click Confirm Charges

2. Schedule In Person

a. In Utica: Office of Records and Registration, 118 Payne Hall
b. In Rome: Student Services Office, 117 Plumley Complex

3. Schedule by Fax or Mail

a. Look up courses and note their CRNs (course reference numbers) www.mvcc.edu/course-search
b. Print out a Course Selection Form  www.mvcc.edu/registrar/course-selection-form
c. Fax completed form to 315-792-5698 or mail to:
    MVCC Office of Records and Registration, 1101 Sherman Drive, Utica NY 13501
d. Confirm and pay charges in SIRS or contact the Business Office at 315-792-5475
 

Non-Matriculated Students

Students may take credit courses without pursuing a degree or certificate from MVCC for personal growth, job advancement or to transfer the credit to another college. Please note that non-matriculated students are not eligible for financial aid.

All students are encouraged to obtain a personal information number (PIN) for access to the Student Information and Registration System (SIRS). Registration, billing and posting of grades are all done through SIRS.

Please schedule your classes according the the above instructions whether you are a Matriculated (degree-seeking) or Non-Matriculated (non degree-seeking) student.
