Lost & Found
Any lost items found on the Utica or Rome campuses are brought to the Department of Public Safety. If you have lost an item, you can call the Department of Public Safety in Utica at (315) 792-5566 or stop by the Department located in the Academic Building room 109, or in Rome at (315) 334-3559 or stop by the Department located in the Plumley Complex room 119. All items that are turned in to the Department are recorded and systematically filed for retrieval.
If you have lost an item and it has not yet been turned into the Department, you are able to leave your contact information and a description of the item so that in the event that it is turned in, we can notify you.
All items turned in to the Department of Public Safety are retained for the matter of time that is dictated by the New York State guidelines for lost property. The time frame is determined by property type therefore some items are retained for a longer period of time than others. As a result, it is encouraged that you contact the Department of Public Safety if you have lost something, even if a significant amount of time has transpired. Generally speaking, most items will be retained for a 90 day period although there are some exceptions.
