Welcome Week Activities for Fall 2012

Utica campus

Monday, Aug. 27

9-10 a.m. & 4-5 p.m.: “Coffee & Calendars” AB Lobby. Pick up important calendars/schedules – including the fall semester calendar, the shuttle bus schedule, and of course, the Welcome Week schedule of activities/events! Help yourself to free coffee too!

1 p.m.: “Counseling Pops” Outside ACC Building. Enjoy a refreshing Popsicle provided by the Counseling Center.

2 p.m.: Fact & Film Series: “Front of the Class” Theater, IT, w/ Pre-Film Lecture by MVCC’s Disability Services Office. DGV Event, Free Popcorn, Tickets available in the Campus Box Offices or Online: http://mvcc.edu/tickets

Tuesday, Aug. 28

10 a.m.-Noon: “Library Café” Library, 2nd floor of Payne Hall. Check out the Library renovations, meet the librarians and find out about all the resources they have to offer for research, reading and much more while enjoying a Cup of Joe!

7 p.m.: Documentary: “10 Questions for the Dalai Lama” Theater, IT. DGV Event, Free Popcorn, Free for MVCC students; Tickets available at the Box Office or Online: http://mvcc.edu/tickets

Wednesday, Aug. 29

10 a.m.-Noon: “Learning Center Soiree” Learning Center, AB 151. Know your stuff! Come learn about free tutoring services on campus and online.

Noon-2 p.m.: “Welcome Week BBQ” Outside in the Quad. Enjoy free hot dogs, hamburgers, salads, beverages, & more! First come, first served. Sponsored by Student Congress.

7 p.m.: Concert: “The Screaming Orphans” Theater, IT. Tickets available in the Campus Box Offices or Online: http://mvcc.edu/tickets.

Thursday, Aug. 30

10 a.m.-2 p.m.: “Club & Student Affairs Day” Snack Bar, ACC. Get involved, join a Club, and get information on all the services MVCC has to offer while enjoying a Root beer Float provided by MVCC Alumni Association.

Friday, Aug. 31

Noon-3 p.m.: “Mini Carnival” Outside in the Quad. Enjoy free ice cream, candy apples, popcorn and activities.

7 p.m.: Robert Channing, “World’s Foremost Mind Reader” Theater, IT. Free Admission for MVCC students, earn Hawk Points.
