MVCC to host Hiring Our Heroes job fair on Utica campus
Mohawk Valley Community College will be the site of a Hiring Our Heroes Veterans/Military Event, a national initiative of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, on Tuesday, May 15, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Robert R. Jorgensen Athletic and Events Center, 1101 Sherman Drive, Utica.
This job fair is designed for veteran job seekers, active duty military members, Guard and Reserve members, as well as eligible spouses and dependents. The Mid-York Library System and the Utica Public Library will have a private computer corner set up with Internet access to assist job seekers with online applications and resumes. There also will be a VIP lounge for job seekers who would like a quiet place to go during the job fair.
More than 50 organizations will be represented, including ABM; Active and Reserve Army; Adecco Employment Services; Ambit Energy; APAC Customer Services; Avon Products; Bartell Machinery Systems, LLC; Best Buy; Birnie Bus Service, Inc.; BNY Mellon; Broken Arrow Consulting Solutions; Columbia Place Associates, LLC; Combined Insurance; Essential Knowledge; Excellus BlueCross BlueShield; EZ Wash Laundromat; First Choice Group CNY, Inc.; GameStop; Human Technologies Corp.; Lowe's Home Centers, Inc.; Mary Kay Cosmetics; Mutual of Omaha; Oneida Nation Enterprises, LLC; OPWDD - Central NY DDSO; Sturges Manufacturing Co., Inc.; The Pampered Chef; U.S. Small Business Administration; Upstate Cerebral Palsy; and Verizon Wireless.
Job seekers are encouraged to register for free at HoH.GreatJob.net, but walk-ins are also welcome.
